Kevin O’Leary, also known as “Mr. Wonderful” on the hit TV show Shark Tank, has made quite a name for himself in the world of business. Born in 1954, O’Leary grew up in Montreal and attended the prestigious university, McGill. After working in various jobs, including as a production assistant for the CBC, O’Leary eventually found himself in the technology industry where he co-founded SoftKey Software Products.
In 1999, SoftKey acquired educational software company The Learning Company for $606 million, resulting in O’Leary becoming the CEO of the newly formed company, The Learning Company, Inc. under its parent company Mattel. However, it wasn’t until his appearance on Shark Tank in 2009 that O’Leary became a household name. As one of the “sharks,” O’Leary invests in entrepreneurs’ businesses and provides them with his expertise and guidance. He is known for his no-nonsense and often harsh feedback, but it has proven to be successful as he is one of the most successful sharks on the show.
